Azmannsdorfer Weg railway bridge

Initial status

The Azmannsdorfer Weg railway bridge is located at 106.410 kilometres on line 6340 from Halle (South) central station to Guntershausen and allows numerous tracks to cross over Azmannsdorfer Weg. The bridge is subdivided into a southern section and a northern section. The two sections are separated by an area between them. The bridge was originally built in 1847 but has been altered and extended numerous times since. Azmannsdorfer Weg runs under the bridge. It is a single-lane road with a path for cyclists and pedestrians on its west side.

Planned status

The new bridge consists of the superstructures (girders in concrete) and two solid abutments on shallow foundations with wings at an angle. The existing headroom of 4.50 metres will remain the same. The bridge will be widened to allow the road under it to have two lanes, each with a width of 3.50 metres, and two paths for combined use by cyclists and pedestrians, each with a width of 2.50 metres. At the same time as work is carried out on the bridge, the sewer in Azmannsdorfer Weg will also be renewed.

The construction work is planned for 2012 to 2014 in construction stages IV and V. The project is currently at the tendering stage.

This measure is to be agreed with Erfurt's city council in accordance with the relevant legislation (§ 12.2).
