The new railway bridge over the A3 motorway Fürth/Erlangen intersection will have four tracks and be up to 120 m long. A bowstring girder bridge is planned. In this type of structure the deck is suspended from a large steel arch on steel cables. Planning permission for the bridge forms part of the development rights for the intended motorway upgrade.
