1890 Completion of Halle's passenger station after five years' construction. It is a thirteen-platform "island" station (the station building is between the tracks). About 40,000 people now use one of its approximately 560 stopping services every day.

2002 Reconstruction of the Halle Hauptbahnhof station building
The station building and train shed roof were extensively rebuilt and restored in the first phase of construction (1999–2002). Some restoration work (passenger subway, buffets and shopping mall) and new construction of some installations (catering and service tunnels) will be necessary in the second phase.
