Facts and figures

The planned two-track Ebensfeld-Erfurt line crosses the Ilm Valley east of the town of Langewiesen (Thuringia) at a height of about 50 metres. The valley has a wide, level valley floor with a shallow side to the south and a gently rising side to the north. The valley is bordered by the B88 road to the south and Langenwiesener Teiche to the north.
