The Pöpelholz Viaduct skirts the western edge of Pöpelholz in the municipality of Schönstädt and crosses the Pöpelbach Valley at a height of about 28 metres.

Between the sides of the valley to the north and south, the valley has a level floor with the Weißenbrunner Bach stream flowing through the northern part of it.
