Line construction in line lot 3

In line lot 3 the earthwork is being carried out for the planning approval section PFA 1.3 and for some of PFA 2.1 from the Scherkonde Viaduct (215.937 kilometres) to the Finne Tunnel (228.685 kilometres). Around 765,000 m³ of soil has to be removed from cuttings. Around 400,000 m³ is required for embankments. In order to use the cohesive, clayey soil extracted for embankments, it has to be improved using binding agents.

At the beginning of the work, a construction road was built along the entire length of the line lot. After the completion of the earthwork, this construction road alongside the track will be reduced to a width of 3.50 metres.

In connection with the earthwork, seven rainwater retention basins are being created, and four railway bridges, six road bridges, an overpass and a footbridge are being constructed. In addition, the area of the intersection between the B 85 and the L 1058 road (the Hauenthal junction) is being completely redesigned and a roundabout is being put in place.
