Northern connection to Eltersdorf

Freight line 5955 is covered by key planning sections 13 and 16 of VDE 8.1. Section 16 has already been considered in its own key planning process and is therefore only included here for information.

The northern Pegnitz tunnel trough ends not far to the south of the Stadeln – Steinach link road, from where the two tracks of the line run on an embankment close and parallel to the A73 motorway.

Key planning section 13 ends where a completely new motorway junction is to be built as an independent project in the coming years. All the railway installations further north are covered by key planning section 16.
